As the United States government built up its Cold War nuclear testing program during the mid-20th century, many Americans paid the price with their health. Considering the importance of RECA to many of our constituents, we respectfully request that you move quickly to hold a hearing to bring to light existing deficiencies in the compensation program and to review our legislation.
The footage raises a number of questions about the practices of the organization, including whether they are in compliance with federal laws regulating both the use of fetal tissue and partial-birth abortions,” the senators wrote. “In addition to questions about Planned Parenthood’s compliance with applicable federal law and medical ethics, we believe the footage prompts important policy questions surrounding the issue of abortions permitted so late in a pregnancy – sometimes even later than 5 months – that an unborn baby’s organs can be identified and harvested.

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Sens. Jim Risch (R-ID) and Angus King (I-ME) today welcomed the Semiconductor Industry Association and its members to the Capitol to launch the Semiconductor Caucus.  The Semiconductor Caucus aims to increase awareness of the semiconductor industry and the vast scope of products that contain semiconductors.   “As building blocks of modern technology, […]

This deal falls disastrously short of what the Obama Administration originally promised and gives the Iranian government what it desires. The West will have to live with a nuclear Iran and will abandon our closest ally, Israel, under this horribly flawed agreement.
Today the Idaho National Lab joined America's National Laboratories in coming to Capitol Hill to share the great work that they contribute to our country and the National Laboratory System. I am so proud of the INL and their incredible team of scientists and experts who make Idaho proud by being a leader in supporting America’s energy infrastructure and collaborating with the other labs in the process. It is a real honor to share with my colleagues the work INL is doing as our country's lead nuclear lab, as well as the important research they are doing in alternative energy
Every private business has to look at ways to save energy and costs at their facilities and the federal government should do the same. Federal data centers use a tremendous amount of energy and by focusing efficiency efforts there, we will see a great deal of savings for taxpayers. I am pleased to work with Senator Heinrich in introducing legislation that will reduce unnecessary spending.
I am disappointed but not particularly surprised by the Supreme Court’s ruling. Because of the disaster that Obamacare has visited on most Americans, we have worked to try to repeal it and replace it with a system that is patient- and provider-driven, provides substantially more patient choice and is substantially less expensive than Obamacare. Since it is obvious that Obamacare is going to need at least substantial change, and more appropriately, full replacement, we will continue to pursue that over the next 574 days.
As the Obama Administration continues to roll out more and more regulations, the voices of small business owners are being considered less and less. A major concern for every small business is keeping up with this growing number of burdensome regulations. I am glad to introduce this legislation that will require federal agencies to carefully evaluate how potential actions will impact small businesses in particular.
The state of Idaho and other groups were invited to create a plan to support and protect sage grouse populations. If the federal government shares our concerns and goals it would allow the states to implement their own plans in order to keep our military bases operational and our troops ready while at the same time protecting the sage grouse.
A broad domestic energy supply is critical for America to grow its economy. This plan helps accomplish that by putting renewable energies under a similar framework as conventional energy sources. It also requires royalty payments that will benefit Idahoans in the counties and states where the projects occur.
