I'm glad to see the administration finally listen to Idahoans and all Americans who are strongly opposed to any further erosion of their Second Amendment rights. This proposal was nothing but a senseless punishment on law-abiding Americans who value the ability to exercise their constitutional right to keep and bear arms and I’m glad the ATF has withdrawn the proposed rule.
The FDA is working to fix a problem that they have created for themselves. This proposed rule will add to the many existing burdens and costs already imposed on our farmers. This needless additional burden comes at a time when we can and should do more to assist the agricultural industry in keeping our food supply safe and affordable for all Americans.
In many of our counties, the federal government is the majority landowner and because of that, the federal government should help shoulder the financial burdens facing these counties.
I am honored to serve as Chairman for the Subcommittee on Energy. My appointment to this subcommittee is important to Idaho as the home of the Idaho National Laboratory. With INL's research in the areas of energy, security and the environment, it is well positioned to continue its important role in our nation's energy security. Additionally, a strong economy and quality of life are directly linked to energy, and our obligation is to see that the American people get the best of both.
Washington, D.C.— U.S. Senator Jim Risch and a bipartisan group of senators this week renewed their efforts to expand restitution for victims of radiation exposure related to U.S. nuclear arms testing in the 1950s and 1960s. As a part of that effort, U.S. Senator Mike Crapo introduced S. 331, the Radiation Exposure Compensation Act (RECA), which […]
Whether you hunt or fish to put food on the table, or for sport, or to pass down a tradition to your family, or for game management purposes, there is something in this bill for you.
President Obama has again crafted a budget that taxes more, spends more, and adds to our ever-increasing $18 trillion national debt. This job-killing budget does not accomplish the one thing that American families need, and that is more money in their pocket. American families have seen their paychecks go down by an average of three thousand dollars under Obama, and this budget shows that more pain is on the way. Idahoans know that the more the federal government intervenes in the economy and private sector, the worse things get for the American people. This budget paints a bleak picture for
The Keystone Pipeline will create thousands of jobs and invest billions of dollars in the economy. I have fought for years to get this project approved and am glad that the Senate has finally been able to take action, ending this inexcusable delay of private investment in our economy. This pipeline is the kind of project that will create the jobs America really needs.
These two young Idahoans are very deserving of this distinction. Caitlin's and Amanda's leadership at their respective high schools and in their communities is admirable and in the spirit of our great state. I’m proud of their hard work and look forward to welcoming them to Washington, D.C., later this spring.
The monument designation process is in sore need of greater transparency. This legislation would require public hearings for Idahoans to express their views on proposed monuments. Currently, citizens in the affected communities have no way to formally express their concerns. It would also require Congressional approval of a proposed monument which would keep the president from designating a monument based on the administration’s agenda, without public input.
