Washington, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Risch selected two college students from Idaho to serve as spring interns in his Washington, D.C. office. The interns have had the opportunity to engage at the national level of government while assisting with constituent services and legislative research.

“Interning in the U.S. Senate is an excellent way to learn about the legislative branch of government and to see where much of our nation’s early history took place,” said Risch. “Brennan and Kellen have served Idaho well and they show great promise.”

The interns are:

Brennan Howard, a senior at Boise State University and native of Meridian. Brennan is studying biology with a minor in history and working towards joining the Navy or Air Force. He is the son of Dan and Carrie Howard of Meridian and enjoys outdoor sports like hunting, fishing, and hiking, among other hobbies.

Kellen Kinder, a graduate of the University of Idaho and native of Boise. Kellen studied political science during his undergrad and will be attending the University of Idaho College of Law this fall. He is the son of Rich and Tracy Kinder and previously interned for Idaho Lieutenant Governor Brad Little.
