Senator Risch Critical of President's Foreign Policy

Remarks Made from the Floor of the U.S. Senate

September 20, 2012

Washington, DC – U.S. Senator Jim Risch criticized the Obama Administration’s foreign policy today from the floor of the United States Senate, saying “this is a foreign policy that is in shambles.”

Senator Risch recently called on the administration to fully investigate the attacks on U.S. missions in the Middle East where four Americans were murdered, including U.S. Ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens.

In his floor remarks, Senator Risch said, “This is a foreign policy that is in shambles.  In the Middle East, it is a foreign policy of apology, it is a foreign policy of appeasement, it is a foreign policy of dithering and looking the other way.  This cannot go on.”

Senator Risch serves on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee and is ranking member of the Subcommittee on Near Eastern and South and Central Asian Affairs, which oversees the Middle East.
