It is imperative that the Obama administration be held accountable to make absolutely certain that the data systems for the exchanges are secure, Risch said. "While my clear and strong preference is to see a full repeal of Obamacare, the least that the administration can do is delay implementation until we can be entirely sure that the American people will not be at risk when they submit sensitive personal information to the Data Hub."

Helium is critical to the Idaho economy as well as the national economy, said Risch. "It is an essential component to the work being done by high-tech manufacturers and the medical industry. By passing this bill, the Senate has come together to avoid a worldwide helium market disruption. Additionally, I am pleased to note that a portion of the revenue generated from this bill will pay for one year of Secure Rural Schools, with another portion of revenue from the bill being used to pay down our nation’s deficit."

Today the Idaho Congressional Delegation announced they will hold the 2013 Service Academy Day on Sat., Oct. 5 at Gowen Field, Boise, ID. The purpose of this event is to share information with prospective candidates and their parents about the congressional nomination process to our nation’s service academies.

U.S. Senator Jim Risch will host a telephone town hall at 7:00 pm Mountain, 6:00 pm Pacific on Monday, September 16th. Risch will give a brief update on issues being discussed in Congress and take questions from Idahoans for the bulk of the hour. He will also ask participants to respond to poll questions on a variety of topics.
