I am deeply troubled that Secretary Kerry would rush to Geneva to enter into a deal with the Iranians, which by all accounts is temporary, incomplete, and a bad deal. The idea of a temporary deal is a broken record we have listened to before.

Washington, D.C. – Idaho Senators Mike Crapo and Jim Risch joined their colleagues Senators Jon Tester (D-Montana) and John Barrasso (R-Wyoming) in a large, bipartisan coalition calling on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to do more to ensure that rural America is not disadvantaged or left behind as the commission reforms and modernizes important programs. Interning in the U.S. Senate is an excellent way to learn about the legislative branch of government and to see where much of our nation’s early history took place. This group of interns is qualified, serve Idaho well and show great promise.
I am, once again, calling for the release of Pastor Abedini, said Risch. "The government of Iran has repeatedly violated human rights by imprisoning and abusing Pastor Abedini whose only crime is peacefully exercising his faith. The American people should have the freedom to keep the insurance plan they have chosen and which was promised they could keep."

The United States faces serious long-term debt and spending challenges that we must confront now, Risch said. "Sadly this deal kicks the can down the road for three months and I could not support it. The federal government continues to borrow too much, spend too much, and intrude into the lives of Americans too much. I hope the President and my Democrat colleagues will offer serious proposals to find a solution instead of turning this situation into another crisis in January."
I was pleased to welcome President Urkullu to Washington, D.C., and converse about his country, his government, and the Basque peoples' strong ties to the United States. With their unique cuisine, language and cultural traditions, the Basque people have enriched the state of Idaho over the decades, and I was honored to host the leader of the Basques in my office
