Last year 1.6 million acres burned in Idaho, so a lot of that timber that you could have taken off is lying on the ground, is black and probably not salvageable. The solution here seems almost too clear, the Forest Service needs to step it up. If you step it up, you will get rid of the fuel and do a whole lot better.
Each year I am truly impressed with the young men and women who apply to our service academies. We have some remarkable students in Idaho who are leaders and excel academically. They have many choices when it comes to furthering their education and I am proud they have chosen to serve our country. It was an honor for me to nominate them to our various academies.

The financial information that Americans are required to provide to the IRS should never be scrutinized based on political ideology. This action is contrary to our First Amendment right of free speech. A rigorous investigation of this activity by the IRS must be conducted with the full cooperation of IRS and administration officials.
It is unfortunate that the FDA is working to find a solution to a problem that they themselves have created. This proposed rule will create needless additional burden and costs at a time when we should do more to assist the agricultural industry in keeping our food supply safe and affordable for all Americans.
