Washington, D.C. – Today, U.S. Sen Jim Risch (R-Idaho), chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, spoke with Fox News’ Neil Cavuto about developments with Iran over its attack on Saudi Arabia’s oil supply.

When asked by Cavuto why Iran carried out this attack, Risch said:

“Things are very bad in Iran, it doesn’t get a lot of play in the media as it should. The rial [Iran’s currency] lost a very substantial part of its value in 2018 and it’s continued through 2019. They are in tough shape at home, and they have got to change the narrative somehow. Something like this will change the narrative, and one could argue that’s what’s going on here. Things are very bad inside Iran right now.”
