Washington, D.C.– U.S. Senator Jim Risch applauded the selection of State Senator Brad Little as his successor as Idaho's Lt. Governor.

"I am very pleased with the selection of Brad Little as my successor to the office of Lt. Governor. He has been a hardworking State Senator representing District 11 and has the respect of Senators on both sides of the aisle. He has the ability to lead this state when he serves as acting Governor and I know he will be very supportive of Governor Otter as his second in command," said Risch.

Governor Otter named Little during a morning news conference following Risch's seating as the state's newest U.S. Senator. Senator Risch had his resignation letter as Idaho's Lt. Governor delivered to Secretary of State Ben Ysursa at ten minutes to ten Mountain Time. Copies of the letter were also delivered to Governor Otter and leadership of the Idaho House and Senate.
