Washington, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Jim Risch today joined Dr. Elizabeth Sherwood-Randall, Deputy Secretary of Energy, Franklin (Lynn) Orr, Under Secretary for Science and Energy, Vice Admiral John J. Grossenbacher, Director of the Idaho National Laboratory, and other leaders and scientists from America’s National Laboratories at the Department of Energy’s annual National Lab Day on Capitol Hill. America’s National Laboratories, including the Idaho National Lab, were in Washington, D.C. to highlight their respective contributions to the National Laboratory system supporting America’s infrastructure.

“Today the Idaho National Lab joined America’s National Laboratories in coming to Capitol Hill to share the great work that they contribute to our country and the National Laboratory System,” said Risch. “I am so proud of the INL and their incredible team of scientists and experts who make Idaho proud by being a leader in supporting America’s energy infrastructure and collaborating with the other labs in the process. It is a real honor to share with my colleagues the work INL is doing as our country's lead nuclear lab,  as well as the important research they are doing in alternative energy systems, and their many contributions to national security, cyber security, and environmental clean-up. I cannot stress enough how important the great work that they do is for all of America.”
