BOISE, IDAHO – U.S. Senator Jim Risch issued the following statement on President Obama's decision to deny a permit for the Keystone XL pipeline:

"The decision by President Obama to deny the permit for the Keystone XL oil pipeline from Canada to Texas is flat wrong. Last year he said he would delay his decision until the end of 2012, even though his State Department had been studying the route for three years. He put politics before jobs and economic growth. This denial could very well allow the Chinese government to strike a deal and have the oil shipped to them instead of the U.S."
